Peggy Capes

Peggy CapesPeggy Capes, Med, MSW, is a licensed Unity Teacher who has been living, practicing and teaching Unity Principles for over 40 years. She initiated the prayer chaplain program at the Unity Church of North Idaho—one of the pilot churches participating in the Transformation Experience. One of the reasons Peggy became involved in the Art & Practice training was to further deepen her understanding of the first Unity Principle: “There is only one power and one presence in the universe, God the Good and Omnipotent.” During her 5-day A & P training, Peggy realized: “Finally—I know how to live this principle!” Peggy’s vision is to share this understanding with others through the teaching of the Art & Practice Workshop.

As a Q Associate, Peggy will use her expertise of working in social services and education for over 30 years to support others to live to their highest potential. She knows first-hand the realities many people face when living in multi-generational households and coping with family challenges.

The Art & Practice material has been instrumental in healing and changing her core beliefs—especially those that were developed at 19-months-old when she was diagnosed with polio. During 12 years of numerous surgeries and experimental procedures, Peggy felt victimized by the medical system. Thankfully, the skills she’s developed through the Art & Practice have released old anger and healed those old hurts. And, they’ve helped her to let go of being defensive or proving she’s right. Now, she can step back when she’s triggered by a situation and touch the God Presence within her to trust everything that happens is an opportunity for learning.

Peggy told a colleague: “I’ve been looking for this resource all of my life.” As a Q-Associate, she looks forward to sharing these empowering resources with others.
