Rev. Dr. Jane Simmons is a powerful speaker, writer, and educator with a passion for multi-generational and heart-centered approach to personal transformation and ministry. Dr. Simmons’ strong background in curriculum writing for adults and youth, and her expertise in strategies to develop heart coherence, and unique spiritual wisdom are an integral part of The Q Effect, LLC.

A spiritual leader and expert in both youth and adult spiritual education, Dr. Simmons developed youth and adult curriculum based on the Unity best seller I of the Storm written by her husband, Rev. Dr. Gary Simmons. She also adapted and expanded on his work authoring The I of the Storm for Teens. I of the Storm and The I of the Storm for Teens and their companion curricula for adults and teens teach peacemaking skills for youth and adults in the New Thought movement. Jane has published numerous articles and essays, and is also the co-author of the popular book Who Have You Come Here To Be: 101 Possibilities for Contemplation with Rima Bonario and Kelly Isola.

Ordained as a Unity minister in 1999, Dr. Simmons has held lead minister positions in both the United States and her native country of Canada as well as serving both the International and Canadian Associations of Unity Churches.

Dr. Simmons holds a Doctor of Theology degree from Holos University Graduate Seminary, where she is an adjunct professor teaching a core course on creating and officiating at Sacred Ceremonies and Celebrations. She is also a member of the adjunct faculty at Unity Institute where she teaches the Spiritual Enrichment & Education (SEE) course Peacemaking Skills with her husband Gary.

Currently, Dr. Simmons serves as the International Teen Ministry Coordinator for Unity Worldwide Ministries (formerly the Association of Unity Churches International) where she has been instrumental in developing powerful youth programs and conferences supporting the future leaders of Unity. In 2010, she oversaw the first ever joint Youth Conference for the Unity movement and centers for Spiritual Living.

Dr. Simmons has presented at major venues such as the New Thought Spiritual Educator’s Symposium and The Unity People’s Convention on the importance of a multi-generational approach to ministry, assisting church leaders in strengthening their existing youth and family programs and widening their perspective on multi-generational congregational service. In addition, Dr. Simmons has assisted in facilitating the integration of the youth programs from International Centers for Spiritual Living and United Centers for Spiritual Living as part of their overall integration process.

A sought-after pulpit speaker, Dr. Simmons travels throughout North America giving Sunday talks as a guest minister. As a qualified HeartMath Instructor, she offers trainings for educators and spiritual leaders on the science of heart coherence, as well as provides heart coherence instruction during the week-long Q Process Facilitators Training program for The Q Effect. Dr. Simmons’ personal commitment to living heart-centered principles in all areas of her life is a true inspiration to all who know her.

Dr. Simmons holds a first-degree black belt in the combined martial arts of Karate, Jiu Jitsu and Tae Kwon-Do. She lives with her husband, the Rev. Dr. Gary Simmons, a Unity minister, in Lee's Summit, Mo.
